Crucial LRDIMM (Load-Reduced DIMM) server memory is the latest addition to Crucial's robust server memory lineup. Servers that support LRDIMMs allow users to double the available installed memory density per server and garner greater channel density by populating more DIMMs per channel. Engineered to advance overall data center performance and reliability, Crucial LRDIMMs are available in module densities up to 32GB and kits up to 96GB.
LRDIMMs support up to double the installed memory density as a result of reduced electrical loads presented to the CPU. Because of these reduced electrical loads, the server is able to run the memory at a higher frequency, enabling up to a 35% increase in memory bandwidth when compared to standard DDR3 Registered DIMMs (RDIMM). LRDIMMs use 1.35V compared to traditional 1.5V that standard DDR3 RDIMMs run, making them more energy efficient and further contributing to the reduction of power consumption in the data center.
